This is by and far the best deal anywhere for a quality HVLP spray gun. As an industrial machinery painter, I use it for self etching primers, oil based enamels, DTM acrylics, 2 part epoxy marine coatings, and poly clears.

If you're trying to paint with a water based paint and getting large beads or spitting out of the gun, tighten your paint flow and raise the pressure. The water based paints have to be THIN, or the air pressure and fine mist WILL dry in the nozzle.

Make sure you clean it out well after each product and I have found that running Crown mineral spirits thru it after each use, the gun stays cleaner and the seals stay conditioned. Just like any other tool, if you take care of it, it will take care of you.

This tool will run with the big name guns, and in some cases outperform them. With a little practice, and a good water seperator filter, this thing will lay down primer, base, flake, pearl and clear.

I use lots of toosl from BOSCH to harbor. This one works well until you need to open for cleaning or due to clogging. There is no seal gusket but a sprayed rubber between fluid nozzle and nozzle seat that broken at first opening. The tool is too thick to insert into fluid nozzle slot (obsoltely mfg never tried to use the tool), and I need to hammer it. If you are lucky you can remove the nozzle, else it comes off with the seat.
with 50 cents or more in mfg this can be a good product.
Anyway, before 1st day end it clogging, leak and not work.

Comments about Central Pneumatic 20 Oz. High Volume Low Pressure Gravity Feed Spray Gun:

Paints absolutely perfectly. My only complaint is the seal at the paint cup and the gun. I put a little thread tape on it and its perfect. Applies a very even spray and doesnt require a ton of air. Very good product.

Comments about Central Pneumatic 20 Oz. High Volume Low Pressure Gravity Feed Spray Gun:

Bought 2 to paint my houseboat in a complete overhaul. Sprayed 3 gallons of marine poly onto railings and stucture, thinned about 20%. My first time to paint oil based paint and the results were surprisingly good. No clogs or breakage, but most of the inserts into the body can loose at one time or another, especially the nut and packing around the trigger shaft. This caused air pressure to drop and reduced paint flow. Had to check it when refilling the cup. Leaked between the cup and tapered seat in the body until I used and cleaned it about 10 times and it seated better. For [$] I can't complain. Didn't have the cleaning issues some mentioned, just clean mineral spirits and a small brush and some time. Haven't touched the second unit yet.

Comments about Central Pneumatic 20 Oz. High Volume Low Pressure Gravity Feed Spray Gun:

I have been spraying finishes for over thirty years. I was skeptical about the low price of this gun, and whether it was truly a HVLP gun. I am happy to say that it is indeed a HVLP gun despite it's low price. I am extremely happy with the incredible finish attained and the saving of spray material. I strongly recommend that you do as I have done and purchase the 32 oz. metal paint cup. I am so impressed that I had to write this. I have never submitted a review before.

I use this gun to spray nitro lacquer on guitars that I build. I've sprayed seven guitars with it so far. It's my first spray gun and I've been happy with it. The only problem I've had with it was a set screw that locks the upper trigger pivot point comes loose occasionally. It causes the trigger to bind if you tighten it too much. It's easy to adjust the spray pattern and it's comfortable to use.

Comments about Central Pneumatic 20 Oz. High Volume Low Pressure Gravity Feed Spray Gun:

Bought this product a few weeks ago for a major home remodeling project and have used it to spray paint Azek exterior trim, and then cleaned it and sprayed 600 linear feet of interior trim with polyurethane. It gave a flawless, furniture grade finish.

In a word, this little gun is "amazing".

When I bought it, I was skeptical it would work and had also bought a major brand HVLP system to hedge my bets. The Harbor Freight HVLP gun worked so good that I never even used the other product.

The only recommendation I will give others considering this gun is to also buy the disposable paint cups that Harbor Freight sells, as they will save you time and mess for the clean-up prcess.

I boxed-up the other system the very next day and took it back for a refund.

I bought 2 of these guns a few weeks ago to paint a truck that I'm fixing up to sell. I wasn't trying to make a show truck so expectations were low going in. I started off spraying the buildable primer and got it running very nice. Moved on to the basecoat and layed down three coats that were a very smooth finish. Then came the clear where this gun put down such a nice smooth finish that I didn't even need to wetsand. I am very thrilled about this gun... for the money it absolutely cannot be beat. The old addage "you get what you pay for" does not apply here. The paint cups are a little annoying (make sure you have the lid screwed on straight and tight or else you'll be cleaning paint off your wrist). But overall for the job it does I give it an A+

I used this gun to spray alchohol based dye stain on a new cabinet... factory results done right in my driveway! Since ti worked so well, I decided to use it to spray the sanding sealer and lacquer. 60 sheen finish, once installed, you couldn't tell the difference between the existing cabinets and the new vanity. I would reccoment this tool to anyone wanting to finish paint!!! -

I have used this gun to paint numerous marine items with oil based enamels it shot better than some of the expensive guns I have used. I was debating the quality of the finish because of the price and I was shocked to the mirror finish I had. also the completeness of the finishes on steel. painted steel doesn't usually last long even when coated, I have numerous items that sit near salt spray and they have not started to rust after 1 year. overall great price and quality finishing tool.
