I bought the box to house my tools I use to make guitars. All my soldering equipment, iron, flux, solder etc. The drawers keeps my tools organized. Of course I could buy a more expensive tool box, but why? I also make pens from kits and this box serves me well.

I have had my box for a number of years. I am here because I am buying my 2nd box. I have tools and beads for all my bead making stuff. I make little bead bags and this box is a perfect fit! The thinner drawers are an exact size for bead tubes that hold the beads. I am going to use my second box for my rhinestone jewelry I am collecting. May have to get a third in the future.

Out of the carton I found this box in perfect condition. Appears well made. Organizized all my Muzzleloading gear in minutes with plenty of room left.

I had always wanted a Gerstner Tool Chest, but the $500 price tag was prohibitive for me. I had seen these chests in the store and for less than $75! I was skeptical as to the quality but thought I would take a chance. I was very happy when I finally got to take it apart and examine the workmanship. It was very good! My only disappointment was the finish. I think it was supposed to reflect a hand rubbed finish, and it wasnt bad, but I desired a high gloss urethane finish, so I added my own. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and will display it on my desk holding my precision measuring tools (I am a mechanical engineer who specializes in Tool Making and I am also a journeyman toolmaker). The chest is no Gerstner, but at 1/10th the cost it is very nice!

Great product, really pleased with it. Had trouble unlocking the front panel after unpacking. If this happens push in on the panel and keep working the lock cyl. The lock tab moves up and down so don't try prying it to the side and risk major damage.I sprayed the lock with WD-40 and it works fine now.This is a perfect size for any organizing need.

This chest was bought for my Muzzleloading experience. I keep my tools, caps, brass hammer, Throwing Hawk, Patches, brass punches, hollow ground screwdrivers, hand checkering tool set, cap and nipple tools and other tools. This is pretty heavy loaded up and has not failed me yet. It looks more traditional than a metal box. I can also fit my muzzleloader pistol in the lower drawer and may purchase another for just that as my Muzzleloader supplies add up. I also may purchase one for my reloading tools and dies with supplies.

All around great chest, great price and HF beats out the best deals for a new exact piece of same name! When on sale with another 20% off it's a bargain!

This "toolbox" is far too beautiful for mere tools. I owe it to my mom who saw it would be perfect to store jewelry that I make and transport it to wherever I have to go, open the drawers and viola! instant display! And the bottom panel serves as a 'display' table. In this capacity, it is unique, functional, and beautiful. I am able to set up a small display very quickly and look good doing it. Gives me a definite edge. It is well made and lovely to look at in and of itself. Unique! Different! Beautiful! Elegant and functional at the same time! I am just so pleased with this 'toolbox' I could pop. I love it and will surely buy another.

The Top Lock does nothing at all - I cannot figure out how it would work either.

That said this is great for the Money!
