Propane Torch

I use this regularly to kill wasps around my house - be careful or it'll BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN.

I use this torch to ignite charcoal in my grills and smoker. There is no need to use the turbo trigger--doing so will actually blast the charcoal all over the place making an incendiary mess and causing mayhem.

Lump charcoal lights up in about 10 seconds. Briquettes take 30 seconds or so. Even factoring in the time it takes for me to unlock the storage shed, grab the torch, lighter, and 20# propane tank, drag it all out to the grill, assemble, ignite, then put it all back again, it's faster than using the chimney with newspaper to light the coals. It's even faster than using the chimney over my grill's propane side burner, or the 55k BTU turkey fryer that I was using previously when I wanted to speed up the ignition process.

The included hose is plenty long enough for the way I'm using this torch. If you want to walk around as you clear sidewalks of weeds, snow, or ice, and you don't want to carry the heavy propane tank, then consider getting the longer hose.

Hooks up easily to standard patio grill LP tank using a wrench to tighten up connections.

Hose is too short to be useful. Purchase Harbor Feight "Extension" hose kit * # 65404 for better use. NOTE: *Extension" hose IS NOT an actual extension, but is actually a longer replacement hose. You can not hook up original hose to extension hose.

Torch works very good for removing garden weeds. Will clear an area of about 10' X 30" per 29 pound LP tank.

Best to be careful & take it slow until you become accustumed to the tool controls. 1/4 turn on both tank & tool knobs is best until you get used to the feel & actions. Adjust later on once you get the feel for it later. Blast lever action is best used in larger open areas, use normal position for trimming in tighter spots. Wearing long pants will be helpful to avoid leg burns. Don't use in highly windy conditions or around distractions.
